Under the leadership of Dr. Nanoti, NIT Hamirpur has achieved several significant milestones. 129 faculty members and 55 non-academic staff were successfully recruited in July-August 2023. Along with this, COA approval for the Department of Architecture, which was pending since 2018, was obtained. The NIRF ranking of the institute improved from 128 to 101-110 category, and student placements were above 80%.
Dr. Nanoti’s administrative efficiency led to the removal of CAG audit observations, resolution of income tax related issues, and efficient management of court and arbitration cases. Improved procurement processes through GeM and ensured best utilization of funds under OH35 and OH36. He also successfully conducted the cultural event Hillfair 2024.
Under his leadership, training sessions on RTI and GEM were conducted, as well as expert lectures on topics such as workplace spirituality, research methods, and women empowerment. Dr. Nanoti’s academic contributions are also commendable, including mentoring a PhD scholar at GTU and getting a patent granted in August 2024. He has also served as a member of the Faculty Promotion Committee at NIT Uttarakhand and as the MoE nominated representative for promotion interviews at NIT Jalandhar.
Student welfare and campus environment have also seen significant improvements during his tenure. Welfare programmes such as “YourDost.com” online counselling, appointment of professional counsellors, yoga, meditation, and gym and sports training were introduced. Art of Living, Brahma Kumari sessions were organised for cultural and spiritual enrichment and student discipline was also improved.
His leadership was instrumental in the successful organisation of the President’s visit under the “Vikas Bharat” programme in January 2024. Dr Nanoti delivered a lecture on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision of unity at SP University, Mandi and conducted sessions on spirituality at workplace for the newly inducted staff.
Dr Archana Nanoti’s dynamic and multifaceted contributions have been instrumental in establishing NIT Hamirpur as a centre of academic, administrative and cultural excellence. The decision to reject her resignation reflects the commitment to sustain this progress.
