Instructions to the DC: Eradicate the gun culture thriving in the district, deal strictly with those who flout the law

Haroli (Una), November 25. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Tuesday inaugurated the 36-meter-span bow-string RCC beam bridge over the Haroli ravine, constructed at a cost of ₹4 crore. The bridge was completed in less than a year. Its construction has made the movement of local people and vehicles safer and easier during the rainy season.

Addressing the public on this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that decisive development is taking place in the Haroli Assembly constituency. Eight bridges are being constructed in the Haroli Assembly constituency at a cost of ₹126 crore, and 10 roads are under construction at a cost of ₹85 crore.

He said that ₹48.69 crore has been approved for the upgradation of the Jejon Mor to Tahliwal link road. With this approval, a road worth ₹20 crore will be constructed from Jejon Mor to Tahliwal, and three bridges will be constructed: Badheda Bridge at a cost of ₹8.74 crore, Kangar Bridge at a cost of ₹15.4 crore, and Palakwah Bridge at a cost of ₹6.24 crore. This will greatly benefit the people by improving connectivity and transportation facilities in the area.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri stated that work on the Beet Area Irrigation Scheme Phase 2, costing ₹75 crore, is underway in the region. This will provide irrigation facilities to the areas of Palakwah, Karmapur, Thakra, Pubowal Kuthar, and Gondpur Jaichand. Work is underway on a second water scheme worth ₹100 crore for Haroli.

Mr. Agnihotri informed the Bulk Drug Park Kolkar that the project has received environmental clearance from the Centre, and tenders worth ₹350 crore have been issued. Land-leveling work will begin very soon.

*Eradicate the Weapon Culture*

During this meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister gave clear instructions to the Deputy Commissioner, Una, to completely eradicate the weapon culture that is flourishing in the district. He said that the peace-loving people of Una want to live in an environment of peace and brotherhood, and therefore the administration should have no hesitation in taking the strictest possible action.

He said that ransom demands, those involved in incidents like firing, and other criminal elements are unacceptable in any civilized society. To further strengthen the system, the Deputy Chief Minister also ordered to ensure concrete changes in the district within a week.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that our politics is based on development, welfare, and service to the poor.

He informed that CCTV cameras are being installed throughout the district, including Haroli, to strengthen the surveillance system, so that the perpetrators of any crime can be immediately identified and effective action can be taken.

On this occasion, District Congress President Ranjit Rana expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Chief Minister for this development gift. He said that under the guidance of the Deputy Chief Minister, Haroli is witnessing a phase of decisive development.
